Tina Raymond

A California-based drummer active in LA’s contemporary improvised music scene, graduate of the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music and the California Institute of the Arts. She also studied African music with Alfred Ladzekpo. Her style combines traditional jazz and classical techniques with African rhythms.

She has played with such jazz stars as Bobby Bradford, David Binney, Rova Saxophone Quartet, Jeff Parker, Art Lande, and Vinny Golia, as well as appearing as a session musician, heard on the albums of many well-known artists. Her own album Left Right Left was released by Orenda Records.

She is an assistant professor of music at Los Angeles City College in Hollywood, CA, an educational artist endorsed by Sabian, Regal Tip, and Remo, as well as an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and Jazz Education Network.
