SUMMARY OF 2024 IN ANAKLASIS

23 / 12 / 2024
The jubilee year of the 5th anniversary of ANAKLASIS was an intensive period of work which resulted in incredible project and numerous awards. We expanded our catalogue with new, inspiring albums and established cooperation with valued musicians. The concerts and meetings with artists organised by us also proved to be equally valuable. Below, there is a short summary of our activities over the past 12 months.

#PEOPLE

Collaboration with artists and performers is the foundation of ANAKLASIS projects. 15 musicians and 3 bands joined the catalogue of artists cooperating with our publishing house in the past year, including Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett with Ensemble Peregrina, Michał Górczyński, Ania Karpowicz, Jakub Moroziński, Kasia Moś, Marek Nosal, Piotr Pławner, Yaroslav Shemet, as well as the Silesian Chamber Orchestra and the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.

#EVENTS
In May, we celebrated the 75th birthday of Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa with a birthday gala, which included a meeting with the author and the premiere of the composer’s first monographic album IL TEMPO PASSA (ANA 030), as well as a ceremonial concert of the H.M. Górecki Silesian Philharmonic ensembles with the music of Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa.

We did not slow down during the holidays, and we actively worked to promote our previous publications. The July premiere of the vinyl edition of the THEMES OF DRACULA album (ANA 021 LP) was performed during an open-air concert by the duo Piotr Orzechowski and Kuba Więcek at the Warsaw barStudio. In August, we visited Szczebrzeszyn where, during the Stolica Języka Polskiego Festival, Krzysztof Herdzin presented compositions from the album IMPRESSIONS ON PADEREWSKI (ANA 011), accompanying the promotion of a small monograph on Ignacy Jan Paderewski published by PWM and a meeting with the author of the publication, Magdalena Majewska.

We celebrated the 5th anniversary of ANAKLASIS during the series of autumn concerts “ANAKLASIS NA FALI. #WYOSTRZSŁUCH NA RADIO KRAKÓW.” As part of it, seven concerts were held in the Romana Bobrowska Studio of Radio Kraków, during which material from albums published in the orange series REVISIONS was played. All events could be listened to via transmissions and retransmissions on Radio Kraków, Radio Kraków Kultura and the Second Programme of Polish Radio. In total, 32 musicians performed in front of over 1,000 listeners as part of the series.

We also engaged in the 12th International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days at the Silesian Philharmonic with a special ANAKLASIS concert. The event accompanied the premiere of two double albums with recordings of a cross-sectional set of Witold Szalonek’s works: PIEŚNI O ŚLĄSKU [SONGS OF SILESIA] (ANA 033) and CONNECTIONS (ANA 034), as well as the promotion of the composer’s latest sheet music publications prepared by PWM.

#AWARDS
This was another year in which ANAKLASIS won phonographic recognition. Our publishing house was distinguished during this year’s edition of the FRYDERYK awards, receiving five nominations. The title of Album of the Year – Choral Music and the winning statuette were awarded to the album ORESTEJA (ANA 025) – a drama-opera by Agata Zubel with a libretto by Maja Kleczewska based on the tragedy by Aeschylus. The PWM record brand was also appreciated in France where, during the 76th Grands Prix internationaux du disc ceremony, the Académie Charles Cros awarded the Coup de coeur prize to the album CONCERTOS (ANA 024) presenting instrumental concerts by Elżbieta Sikora. During this ceremony, the composer also received the President of the French Republic Award for her lifetime achievement.
