Łukasz Długosz

A graduate of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, a master programme at the Conservatoire National Superior de Musique et de Danse in Paris as well as Yale University in New Haven, Długosz has won numerous prizes in flute competitions in Paris, Odense, Mannheimm Viggiano, and others.

He gives concerts in Poland and abroad as a soloist and member of chamber ensembles, working with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Helmut Rilling, James Levine, Jerzy Maksymiuk, and Agnieszka Duczmal. Łukasz Długosz has made many recordings for the radio and television. His numerous albums have won many awards, including the International Classical Music Award (ICMA).

Łukasz has premiered a number of works by Polish and foreign composers, including Paweł Mykietyn, Enjott Schneider, and Michael Colina. His artistic achievements have won him the Gasteig-Musikpreis, Zeit-Preis, and Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. He is a two-time nominee for the ‘Passport’ Award of the ‘Polityka’ weekly as well as the ‘Guarantees of Culture’ award of TVP Kultura, and recipient of the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis. In 2016 Łukasz Długosz was presented with the Orpheus Award for outstanding performances of flute music, including works by Polish composers.
