Performers
Łukasz Konieczny
Bass. Graduate of the Academy of Music in Wrocław (2009). He has also completed acting courses at the International Film School in Cologne and participated in master classes with such instructors as Christian Elssner, Deborah Polaski, David Syrus, Linda Watson and Franz Grundheber. He made his debut in 2010 as Polyphemus in Haendel’s Acis and Galatea (opera festival in Reinsberg, Austria) with the Wiener Akademie Orchestra, conducted by Martin Haselböck. In 2009–2011, he sang with the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.
His repertoire includes over 50 opera roles, including Sarastro (Mozart’s The Magic Flute), Sparafucile (Verdi’s Rigoletto), Rocco (Beethoven’s Fidelio). He was part of the premiere of Paweł Mykietyn’s St Mark Passion during the Wratislavia Cantans and Warsaw Autumn festivals. He also regularly performs a concert repertoire. He has sung the bass part in Stravinsky’s Les Noces during the 2013 Klavier-Festival Ruhr, and the bass part in Krzysztof Penderecki’s Polish Requiem during the Polish Music Festival in Krakow (2014). He won the special prize in the International Song Festival in Istanbul in 2010.
In 2017, Łukasz Konieczny made his debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich as Barone Douphol in Verdi’s Traviata, cast together with Plácido Domingo and Diana Damrau. In 2018, he made his debut at the Grand Theater – National Opera in Warsaw in Moniuszko’s Haunted Manor as Skołuba. In 2019 he returned to Warsaw with a recital of Moniuszko’s songs.
