TOMASZ PILUCHOWSKI

Tenor, graduate of Warsaw’s Chopin University of Music (2007), prize winner in the Berlin Deutsche Oper’s Internationaler Gesangswettbewerb and the 12th Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz. He has appeared under such conductors as Andriy Yurkevych, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Miguel A. Gómez-Martínez, Lionel Friend, Łukasz Borowicz, Tadeusz Kozłowski, Marek Moś, and Jakub Chrenowicz, in spectacles directed by Keith Warner, Mariusz Treliński, Jerzy Gruza, Emil Wesołowski, Igor Gorzkowski, and Jitka Stokalska.

Piluchowski sang at Poznań’s Grand Theatre, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, as well as the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok. Since 2009 he has performed at Warsaw’s Teatr Wielki – the Polish National Opera, where he featured in such productions as Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Verdi’s La traviata, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Penderecki’s Devils of Loudun, Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor, and Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.

He is also highly regarded in the contemporary classical music scene. He has appeared in world premiere performances of such operas as Aleksander Nowak’s Sudden Rain (dir. Maja Kleczewska), Hadrian Filip Tabęcki’s Day of the Wacko (title part), as Athene in Agata Zubel’s dramopera Oresteia (dir. Maja Kleczewska) co-produced by Warsaw’s Wielki and Narodowy theatres, as well as the world premiere of Sławomir Wojciechowski’s Victory over the Sun (dir. Krzysztof Garbaczewski).
