Łukasz Borowicz
				Conductor and educator Łukasz Borowicz studied with Bogusław Madey at the Chopin Academy (now University) of Music in Warsaw, where he also obtained a DMA in conducting under the supervision of Antoni Wit. Borowicz was the artistic director of Polish Radio Orchestra (2007–2015) and principal guest conductor of Poznań Philharmonic (from 2006), of which he has been the music director and chief conductor since 2021.
The artist’s accolades include the Polityka’s Passport Award (2008), Coryphaeus of Polish Music (2011), Tansman Award for outstanding musical personality (2014), and the Polish Composers’ Union’s Honorary Award (2022).
Borowicz has recorded more than 130 albums. The recordings of Andrzej Panufnik’s complete symphonic works by the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (POR) and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under his baton won the ICMA 2015 Special Achievement Award. Piotr Beczała’s CD Heart’s Delight (with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Deutsche Grammophon) as well as three other CD’s with Borowicz’s participation, have been awarded a Diapason d’Or. Feliks Nowowiejski’s oratorio Quo Vadis (with Poznań Philharmonic) received the ICMA 2018 for Choral Music, while Urlich (with Poznań Philharmonic and baritone Samuel Hasselhorn) won the ICMA 2025 for Vocal Music.
Łukasz Borowicz teaches a conducting class at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow.
