Bartłomiej kominek

He graduated with honours from Janusz Olejniczak’s piano class at the Kraków Academy of Music, as well as attending masterclasses taught by Andrzej Jasiński, Oxana Jablonska, Lee Kum-Sing, and Ryszard Bakst. He is currently a teacher at his alma mater, head of the Department of Chamber Music since 2020. In 2015, he obtained his postdoctoral degree. A prize-winner of national and international piano competitions, Kominek has given performances throughout Europe, in the Near East, and Japan.

His discography includes solo albums of music by Ivo Josipović (Polskie Nagrania) and Sergei Prokofiev (including the Suite from Romeo et Juliet, DUX), recordings with Janusz Olejniczak (Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle for the University of Gdańsk), Joanna Freszel (Akwarelle, DUX), Piotr Lato and Alexander Gebert (trios by Marek Stachowski and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, AMKP/DUX).

He has worked with such artists as Olga Pasichnyk, Iwona Sobotka, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Tomasz Strahl, Anna Maria Staśkiewicz, string quartets (DAFÔ, Camerata, Prima Vista) and orchestras (Capella Cracoviensis, Sinfonia Varsovia, and the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw). With Anna Boczar he plays in Chopin Piano Duo. Together they recorded an album of Roman Maciejewski’s works for two pianos (DUX).

Since 2016, Kominek has been the artistic director of the International Piano Duo Festival ‘Duettissimo’ in Kraków. One of his achievements is the arrangement of Fryderyk Chopin’s complete orchestral works for piano and string quartet (PWM Edition).
