Performers

Boy soprano and violinist, student at the Stanisław Moniuszko First-Level Music and General Education School in Katowice, winner of many violin competitions in Poland and abroad. As a soprano he has sung in the Lord of the Rings film suite (from a soundtrack by Howard Shore) with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra under Adam Sztaba and Kaapo Ijas. He also performed the part of Poponel in the Polish premiere of Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera The Boy Who Grew Too Fast. In 2023 he appeared with Canto d’Oro children’s choir, sharing the stage with US mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato.

Saxophonist Bartłomiej Duś graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he had studied with Bernard Steuer, and where he currently teaches a saxophone class. He is also a graduate from Claude Delangle’s class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris and Vincent David’s class at the C.R.R de Versailles. He obtained a D.M.A. degree in 2019

Pianist and chamber musician; she graduated with an honours degree from Hanna Kryjak’s piano class at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she has taught a chamber music class since 2012

Considered as one of the most original Polish jazz pianists, he also performs classical music and contributes to experimental bands.
This graduate of the Poznań Academy of Music has won numerous prizes for both classical music (incl. the 3rd prize in the Paris Conservatoire Russe Alexandre Scriabine’s international piano competition, 2007) and jazz performances (Warsaw Jazz Pianist Contest, 2006, 2nd prize).

The internationally renowned E-MEX Ensemble, founded in 1999, aims to discover the wealth of contemporary music. One of its main objectives is to commission and premiere new works as well as collaborating closely with composers in order to reveal each composition’s full artistic spectrum. E-MEX also performs many classic masterpieces from the 1st half of the 20th century.

Born in Zurich in 1975. After studying musicology and philosophy, he began to study conducting with Christian Kluttig at the High School of Music in Dresden. He received support for his musical career from the German Music Council’s Conductors’ Forum (2002–2005) and David Zinman’s American Academy of Conducting at the Aspen Summer Music Festival (2003). In addition, he got to know the orchestral repertoire as assistant to Sylvain Cambreling, Marc Albrecht, and Peter Rundel.

The Austrian guitarist Christian Fennesz, composer and electronic music producer, is an icon of Europe’s ambient music scene. He studied guitar and ethnomusicology; his experiments with electronics date back to his earliest years.

He graduated in violin and composition from Warsaw’s Music Institute. Prize winner in competitions for composers in Leipzig (1898) and Warsaw (1901). His conducting debut took place in 1904 at Warsaw Philharmonic. In 1905 he co-organised the Young Polish Composers’ Publishing Company.
