Katarzyna Duda

She studied with Tibor Varga at the Ecole Supérieure de Musique in Sion and with Jan Stanienda at Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin Academy (now – University) of Music. Prize winner in the Tibor Varga Competition in Sion and the International Tadeusz Wroński Com- petition in Warsaw. Holder of a scholarship from the American Academy of Arts.

She has performed in Europe, the United States and Mexico, in such venues as the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York as well as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, with orchestras such as the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, the PNRSO, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México, the European Union Chamber Orchestra, the ‘Amadeus’ Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, the Neue Ruhr Kammerphilharmonie, the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Warsaw Camerata. She has also played with the Camerata Quartet, Ewa Pobłocka, Waldemar Malicki, and Janusz Wawrowski. She shared the stage with Konstanty A. Kulka, Krzesimir Dębski and Michał Urbaniak during a concert entitled ‘Violin Summit’ in Gdańsk (2003).

She performs music from the Baroque to contemporary. Her concerts have been broadcast by the radio and television in Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Mexico, France, Germany, and Russia. With Waldemar Malicki she recorded the CD Le Streghe, with the Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra – Le Streghe 2, and with Waldemar Gromolak (feat. Anna Maria Jopek) – A Simple Classic Album.
